I was certified PADI instructor #469292 in May of 2000. Since then I have taught more than 200 students and become certified as a mixed-gas technical diver and enriched air instructor. I became involved in drysuit diving and wreck exploration while living in the Pacific Northwest. Here is a series of underwater photographs taken over the past few years. I am a part of Project Aware which seeks to preserve the underwater environment through a variety of educational and activist endeavors throughout the year. Scuba has been an infinitely rewarding activity for me, not only due to the friends and colleagues I have met around the world but also for the serenity of the underwater world and the breath control that has transferred over to every corner of my life, from academic writing and concentration, to musical performance, aikijujutsu and general centeredness.
